Mixed media .....

Part one - still planning...
Flowers, flowers everywhere !!

These flower ideas are from http://www.crochetgeek.com/ ,who demonstrates left hand instructions.

These are from a tutorial by Attic24 ; a very beautiful piece of  work. These ones did not turn out correct, there are missing/skipped stitches. Instructions are in UK terms and it is right hand. I gave my best left handed effort.... I think I will be able to get it right maybe after another fifty of them :)  Anyway, these imperfect ones are alright for my project.

The "african flower" is via a YouTube tutorial, they too are not yet correct.

I have read in blogs, those who are experienced in crocheting saying it is addictive. I did not realize until I started to learn. Yes, now I can feel it is kind of addictive, because I have been spending more time getting tangled and less time on my other creative work. :)

More blooming flowers to come....

Thank you for taking time to stop by,

Until next time,

Granny Squares finally.... [learning left hand crochet]

completed........ turned into a small throw !

So, after making the squares I joined them using the single crochet method. Again, I turned to YouTube for guidance and found several videos [right hand] on joining granny squares and after experimenting with slip stitch and single crochet, I liked SC better.

When it was all done I wanted to add a border, using the green yarn I added two rows of SC. I had to figure out how turn the corners.

Lastly, with the blue yarn I added another border of double crochet. I don't think I got it correctly because I feel that it has extra stitches than it should be; making it gather in certain places.

Yet, I am feeling quite happy about my accomplishment, because when I took upon to try something larger than a place mat;  I did not think I would be able to do it. I really thought I would end up in a big tangled mess !

The only little sad part is, that there is no crochet expert  that I know, to show my work and ask whether I have done it alright :) .......so what do you think??

Thank you for always stopping by,

Flower [Learning left hand crocheting]

Coasters

This is my attempt to crochet flower coasters.  After watching several videos on 'how to' on YouTube, I opted to try this flower by elizzza , one of the youtube videos. Thank you, Anneliese [one of my blogger friends]for suggesting  the site.

The tutorial is called 'african flower' and is done in right hand. I watched it many times but it is not easiest  for me understand.  After, several times of watching  her instructions, I wrote them down the best way I could understand.

But, still I do not feel I got it right, specially the green one looks smaller than the other two. Maybe I missed stitches on the way :(

I did not do the whole square either, just the flower part only. It looks ok for me, but for all I know, an expert in crocheting will tell me that I have done it 'all wrong'.

Also, did a small place mat [with single crochet] to go with coasters.

There is lot learn, so I 'll keep practising ! This will be a summer gift for a friend [she knows that I am still in the learning stage]
